BAXI Manresa suffered a defeat on Unicaja's challenging court in a game where they trailed throughout (105-82).
The home team got off to a good start, scoring the first seven points of the game. Despite a response from Diego Ocampo's men, who scored six straight points, the Malaga team maintained control of the scoreboard and finished the first quarter with a ten-point lead (25-15).
In the second quarter, the visitors went on a 0-9 run, bringing them within one point (25-24). However, Ibon Navarro's team quickly responded, reaching a maximum lead of fourteen points (48-34), which two free throws by Oriola reduced to twelve by halftime (48-36).
After the break, the home team continued to control the game and comfortably led against Bages, who closed the gap to six points (70-64). By the end of the third quarter, Malaga had a nine-point lead and were firmly in control of the game (75-66).
In the final ten minutes, Unicaja came out determined to seal the victory and gave Diego Ocampo's players no chance. They opened with a 5-0 run and never looked back, extending their lead to 23 points by the final buzzer.
After the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers break, BAXI Manresa will return to competition on Friday, December 5th at 8:45 PM, hosting Germany's Veolia Towers Hamburg in the final game of the first round of the Eurocup regular season.
