BAXI Manresa closes the season at home against La Laguna Tenerife
The Manresa team is playing for 9th place when it hosts the Canary Islands on Matchday 34 this Friday at 9:00 PM. Diego Ocampo will rule out one of the 13 players available for the match tomorrow.
The Endesa League draws to a close for BAXI Manresa. The Bages team missed out on a place in the top eight for the play-offs, but they can regain ninth place and move up one spot in the final standings. The Manresa coaches will decide on matchday which player is left out of the final roster.
It's the final farewell match at the Nou Congost, but with one position still at stake: BAXI Manresa can regain ninth place, which they lost to UCAM Murcia. This place in the standings could be important. Diego Ocampo has explained that he has all his players available—except for Traoré—and will have to leave one out depending on how the final training session goes.
La Laguna Tenerife, meanwhile, arrives with the intention of protecting second place and thus having home-court advantage in a hypothetical Liga semifinal. Txus Vidorreta's team is well-known at the Nou Congost, with players like Marcelinho Huertas, the recent MVP of the Endesa League, as well as Shermadini, Kramer, Fitipaldo, and Doornekamp.
Diego Ocampo said in the last preview that «they are a team that has great control of the game, and this can be frustrating; they can finish in the final seconds of possession; it's difficult to run against them because they don't lose the ball; they will try more to defend with patience and solidity to contain the 24 seconds.»
