Kids&Us Manresa secured their first victory in the Liga Endesa by narrowly defeating Monbus Obradoiro at the Nou Congost (100-99) in a game that required a second overtime period to decide the winner. Additionally, JD Notae equaled Manresa’s ACB record for three-pointers made—a record previously set by Linton Townes in 1994 (8-of-9).
Diego Ocampo’s squad got off to a strong start, scoring the first five points of the match. The hosts—featuring the debut of Mobley—continued to dominate for a few minutes, but the visitors from Galicia responded and turned the score around. A three-pointer by Notae leveled the game at 19-19 by the end of a tightly contested first quarter, which saw relatively poor shooting from both teams.
In the second period, two three-pointers allowed the Manresa side to build a six-point lead (25-19), but the visitors fought back, eventually establishing a lead of up to five points (29-34). At halftime, Obradoiro held a narrow lead (35–36).
Returning from the locker rooms, the team from Bages once again got off to a strong start, building a ten-point lead (48–38). They then managed to withstand their opponents' attacks, ending the third quarter with a seven-point cushion (55–48).
In the final period, it appeared the hosts would maintain their lead, but the Galician side put together a powerful closing stretch to pull three points ahead (70–73). Notae then stepped up to tie the game, and Childress was unable to score on the final possession.
During the first overtime, Ocampo’s men held the upper hand but failed to put the game away; their opponents forced a second overtime thanks to a three-pointer from Barcello.
In the final five minutes, the visitors moved five points ahead (90–95), but the Manresa side refused to give up—battling back and showing great resilience to secure their first win in the Liga Endesa.
On Tuesday at 8:30 PM, Kids&Us Manresa will host BOSNA BH Telecom Sarajevo in the final match of the first half of the EuroCup group stage.
