Kids&Us Manresa was unable to secure its first win in the Liga Endesa, falling on the challenging home court of EuroLeague side Kosner Baskonia (106-83).
Diego Ocampo’s squad got off to a strong start, at one point holding a five-point lead (9-14). Shortly after, the Basque side—led by Simmons—responded, turned the score around, and finished the first ten minutes with an eight-point advantage (30-22).
In the second quarter, the Vitoria-based team extended its lead to thirteen points (39-26), but solid team play allowed the visitors to narrow the gap (45-40). Five unanswered points enabled the hosts to head into halftime with a ten-point cushion (50-40).
Returning from the locker room, the Manresa side started well, playing at a high level and even managing to flip the score in their favor (56-58). However, Baskonia responded emphatically, closing out the third quarter with a nineteen-point lead (83-64). In the final ten minutes, the team from Bages tried to get back into the game, but Velimir Perasovic’s men remained solid and secured another victory in the Liga Endesa.
On Wednesday at 6:00 PM, Kids&Us Manresa will visit the home court of Lithuania’s Lietkabelis Panevezys for another round of the EuroCup.
