Diego Ocampo: "Playing with intensity, high tempo and taking risks is non-negotiable for us and our fans to enjoy this year"
The coach of BAXI Manresa offers a press conference at the Monastery of Montserrat after taking a walk with the media.
This is what BAXI Manresa coach Diego Ocampo said today at a press conference held at the Montserrat Monastery (Barcelona), where he was promoted this morning accompanied by his staff and a large group of journalists who regularly follow BAXI Manresa, and basketball in general, in various media. “All of us who are part of BAXI Manresa want to enjoy ourselves and make our fans enjoy this whole season. That is why it will be essential to always play with intensity, a high pace and taking risks, with courage and determination”, assures Ocampo.
After playing the Catalan Basketball League last week, in which BAXI Manresa lost the final to Barça by 98-81, and just two weeks before the start of the 2024-25 ACB League, Ocampo wanted to share a different day with the media, and chat in a relaxed manner about basketball, teams, players... while they covered, in less than two hours, the almost 5 kilometres and 600 metres of positive gradient that separate Monistrol de Montserrat and the Montserrat Monastery, which last week began the celebrations of the 1000 years of the foundation.
“We don't have many opportunities during the season to meet each other personally and share moments of relaxation with the media that follow us. We all have a lot of work and we get to the point. I think we enjoyed the day and had a great time, although I saw some of them sweat a lot…”, jokes Diego Ocampo.
BAXI Manresa will start the ACB League at the Nou Congost on Saturday 28 September at 8:45 pm against Valencia Basket. “It will definitely be a very demanding match. We will have to be good and very focused on defence and very accurate on the rebound. Valencia is a renewed and very powerful team, also coached by Pedro Martínez, whom both Manresa and I admire and love very much”, assures Diego Ocampo.
