Kids&Us Manresa was unable to close out the preseason with a win, falling by the narrowest of margins in Galicia to Leyma Coruña (86-85) in a game decided by two free throws scored in the final second.
Carles Marco’s players got off to a strong start, opening with an 11-4 run. The team from Bages then reacted—particularly on defense—to finish the first quarter trailing by just three points (23-20).
In the second period, the Galician side maintained the lead throughout but could not stretch the gap to double digits. At halftime, Leyma Coruña held a six-point advantage (44-38).
Returning from the locker room, Carles Marco’s men came out strong again, building a lead of up to twelve points (50-38). Subsequently, the Manresa side improved, staged a comeback, and established a six-point lead of their own. At the end of the third quarter, the team from Bages held a three-point margin (64-67).
In the final ten minutes, neither team was able to pull away, and the outcome came down to a tight finish. In this instance, Leyma Coruña proved more accurate and secured the win thanks to two free throws made by Verge in the final second of the game.
