BAXI Manresa secured a crucial victory at the Nou Congost against EuroLeague opponent Valencia Basket, in a game where they trailed for most of the time but rallied in the final stretch (104-102).
The visitors got off to a strong start, going on an 8-2 run. Diego Ocampo's men then tied the game, but Valencia Basket pulled away again, closing the first quarter with a four-point lead (18-22).
In the second quarter, Valencia extended their lead to ten points (26-36), but the home team, led by Obasohan, responded and took the lead (40-38). However, Pedro Martínez's team turned the game around again and went into halftime with an eight-point lead (48-56).
Coming out of the locker room, Manresa closed the gap to just one point (70-71), but couldn't overcome the visitors, who raised their level of play once more. This allowed them to finish the third quarter with a four-point advantage (78-82).
In the final ten minutes, it seemed the Manresa team had the game well in hand, but Diego Ocampo's men refused to give up, and a three-pointer from Obasohan put them ahead. In the final minute, some solid defense and a free throw by Reyes secured a valuable victory for the team from Bages.
On Sunday at 12:30 PM, BAXI Manresa will visit MoraBanc Andorra.
