The reviews at CIMETIR, start of the pre-season for BAXI Manresa
The players have already been put in the hands of the medical team at the Clínica Sant Josep coinciding with the start of training. For the first time, professionals from the Integral Sports Rehabilitation Unit at Clínica Sant Josep have carried out a functional assessment of the players to determine strategies that should contribute to better sports performance.
As every August, at the start of the pre-season, the BAXI Manresa players are put to the test in the medical and sports examinations that they must pass at CIMETIR, the Integral Center for Sports Medicine, Traumatology and Rehabilitation at Clínica Sant Josep, which has the highest category accreditation (level 3) of the Catalan Sports Council. These reviews provide valuable information about the state of health of the squad and give the start to the pre-season of the first team of Básquet Manresa.
The tests carried out this Wednesday, August 16, have served to confirm the good state of health of the players of the Manresa team. The medico-sports exam has confirmed the optimal performance of Martinas Geben, Dani Pérez and Guillem Jou, who were the first to pass it, together with Dani Garcia, Musa Sagnia and Toni Naspler. It is planned that the rest of the players will take the tests in the coming days.
The reviews carried out at the CIMETIR, supervised by a professional specialized in sports medicine, are adapted to the characteristics of each sport.
In this case, they include an assessment of the clinical and sports history, an anthropometric study and a heart scan. In addition, they must also pass a stress test with a gas analyzer and have their lactic acid measured to determine the physical condition of all players.
Both the review and the follow-up and control visits to CIMETIR are included in the collaboration agreement between the Althaia Foundation and Bàsquet Manresa. As a result of this agreement, Althaia, through the professionals of the Clinic, also assumes responsibility for the medical services and for this reason, this season, Dr. Marcelo Casaccia will continue to be the referring doctor for the club's first team.

One of the novelties in the players' preparation for the start of the new season has been the tests and functional tests carried out by the specialist professionals of the Integral Sports Rehabilitation Unit of the Clínica Sant Josep.
These evaluations - objective, quantitative and qualitative - make it possible to analyze the different weak points and asymmetries presented by each player.
In order to carry out these assessments, the Integral Sports Rehabilitation Unit has innovative technology, which includes three machines with different functions, which it moved to the Nou Congost facilities at the beginning of this week. This has made it possible to obtain a lot of data from the players to assess, in a very reliable and precise way, their strength, movement and balance in a wide variety of exercises and jumps.
This type of analysis makes it possible to analyze and monitor in real time the sporting performance of each player and possible re-adaptation processes in an objective, fast and reliable way. This means that the technical team can then establish individual and personalized strategies for each player that should contribute to improving their sporting performance.
