Despite being from the FC Barcelona academy and making his debut in the 2014-15 season, Eric Vila also trained in American college basketball, at the universities of Texas, Florida State and UTEP. He then returned to Spain to play for Bàsquet Girona for 3 seasons and for Breogán de Lugo.
