BAXI Manresa suffers a setback in a close finish against Girona

BAXI Manresa was unable to start 2026 with a victory, falling in the final second at Nou Congost to Bàsquet Girona (95-97).
The home team got off to a good start, building an early four-point lead (12-8). However, the visitors then found their rhythm and began scoring with ease. This allowed them to turn the game around and close the first quarter with a four-point advantage (25-29).
In the second quarter, the players coached by Diego Ocampo came out firing again and quickly took control. The home team took charge of the game and built a maximum lead of eleven points at halftime (59-48).
After the break, Manresa, led by Obasohan, extended their lead to sixteen points (75-59). Girona responded and tied the game at 78. A three-pointer by Brooks put his team three points ahead at the end of the third quarter (81-78).
In the final ten minutes, Girona dominated, but always by the narrowest of margins. Neither team could pull away, and the game had to be decided in the final seconds. In those final seconds, an offensive rebound by Geben gave Bàsquet Girona the victory.
