The players and technical staff of BAXI Manresa have left the court to embark on a day of volunteering, participating in activities that the AMPANS Foundation promotes in the care of users. Promoted by the coach, Diego Ocampo, the initiative aimed to bring the players closer to other realities and encourage commitment to society. The players have been divided into different groups to actively participate in various tasks.

Planning, preparing and preparing a healthy menu together with the users of one of the residential homes was the task carried out by Carlos Flores, Emanuel Cate and Retin Obasohan. The players met with four of the people who live in one of the homes, in the Caprabo supermarket of AMPANS, and together they decided on the shopping list. Afterwards they went to the flat and prepared the food together.

Supporting the school canteen, helping with tableware, service and accompanying students who need help during lunch time, has been the activity in which Dani Pérez and Derrick Alston Jr. have participated.

Jaume Sorolla, Cameron Hunt and Santi Vescovi have joined the Paralympic sports activity of Boccia, a precision sport practiced by people with cerebral palsy or reduced mobility.

Adrián Rubio, Bodian Massa, Guillem Jou and Mario Saint-Supéry have discovered the best kept secrets of a delicious cheesecake, in the Obrador of the Canonge restaurant.

Finally, Alex Reyes, Marc Estany and Marcis Steinbergs have put on a camera and microphone, and have followed the volunteer day, forming part of “La Pinya” a team of reporters that the entity promotes as one of the training activities of the Occupational Center service.

In response to questions from the team of reporters, the BAXI players have given a very positive evaluation of this initiative, which is so unusual in first division teams. Àlex Reyes has commented that through this volunteering they have felt like role models "to be able to transmit healthy habits that are very common for high performance athletes like us." For Emanual Cate, opportunities like this are very positive "to bring us closer to projects with which we are not in contact regularly and I think it has been a very enriching morning for both parties." With initiatives like this, BAXI Manresa and the AMPANS Foundation demonstrate, once again, that sport and solidarity can go hand in hand, creating links and promoting values that contribute to the community.
