Once again, the BAXI Manresa first team players have been put to the test in the medical-sports check-ups that have been carried out at CIMETIR, the Comprehensive Centre for Sports Medicine, Traumatology and Rehabilitation at the Sant Josep Clinic.

The medical-sports examination has confirmed the optimal performance of a good part of the squad, such as the captain Guillem Jou and the players Dani Pérez, Musa Sagnia and Marcis Steinbergs, who are once again part of the first team this year. They have also confirmed the good condition of some of the new additions: Santiago Véscovi, Álex Reyes, Bodian Massa, Emanuel Cate and Derrick Alston Jr. The rest of the members of the dressing room will undergo their check-ups in the next few days.

The medical-sports check-ups carried out this Monday at the CIMETIR have been supervised by professionals specialised in sports medicine and have included an anthropometric study, a spirometry and stress tests to determine and assess the players' good physical condition.

Collaboration agreement

The pre-season check-ups carried out at the CIMETIR are included in the collaboration agreement between the Althaia Foundation and Bàsquet Manresa. As a result of this agreement, Althaia, through the sports medicine experts at the Sant Josep Clinic, also assumes responsibility for medical services throughout the season.

Functional assessments by the Comprehensive Sports Rehabilitation Unit

The medical check-ups have also included tests and functional tests carried out by professionals from the Comprehensive Sports Rehabilitation Unit of the Sant Josep Clinic at the Nou Congost facilities. The assessments have allowed the analysis of the different weak points and asymmetries of each player.

In order to carry out these assessments, the Unit has innovative technology, which includes three machines with different functions. This has allowed it to obtain a lot of data from the players in order to assess, in a very reliable and precise way, strength, movement and balance in a wide variety of exercises and jumps.

This type of analysis also allows the sporting performance of each player to be analysed and monitored in real time, as well as possible rehabilitation processes. This means that the technical team can then establish individual and personalised strategies for each player that should contribute to improving their sporting performance and preventing possible injuries.
