Salut and BAXI Manresa call on the public to prepare for the season and get vaccinated now

BAXI Manresa coach Pedro Martínez and players Dani Pérez and Rafa Martínez are taking part in the campaign of the Department of Health in Central Catalonia, which is urging citizens to get vaccinated now, taking advantage of the last days of summer. With the motto Vacuna’t Ara, prepare for the season, the players remind the public of the importance of getting vaccinated in order to protect themselves from Covid.

This initiative follows the campaign that was launched last week throughout Catalonia, which reminds us that the pandemic is not on holidays, it also winks at the world of sport and its fans, reminding them that now is the time to prepare the season. At a time when professional teams are starting or preparing for the competition, it is also remembered that fans, in order to support their teams, must be vaccinated.

The goal of the Department of Health is to increase the percentage of people vaccinated and reach the fall with good population coverage. That's why we call on everyone who hasn't been vaccinated to do so.

Currently in Catalonia, anyone over the age of 12 can be vaccinated and can be done in two ways:

-Request an appointment on the website cat
-Go directly to one of the vaccination points without prior appointment of the territory

There has been a decrease in the number of vaccines given during the month of August. Despite having the professionals, the vaccines and all the resources ready, the prioritization of the holidays and the feeling of a false security in front of the Covid-19, has slowed down the vaccination rate.

The delta variant is already the majority variant in Catalonia, which highlights the need to reach maximum immunity as soon as possible. Increasing vaccine coverage is essential to prevent hospitalizations, congestion in the health system and the emergence of new variants. Vaccination is an act of individual responsibility.
