L'Alqueria del Basket (Valencia) will host between December 6 and 8 the Previous Phase of the Endesa 2020 Mini Cup, in which 16 children's teams will fight to join Real Madrid and Unicaja in the Final Phase to be played during the Copa del Rey of Malaga. Competition system, group distribution and calendar have already been defined.

L’Alqueria del Basket, the sports center that houses the entire Valencia Basket quarry, will host the previous phase of the next Endesa Mini Cup between December 6 and 8. There sixteen children's teams - on behalf of the Endesa League clubs - will compete to get one of the six places in the final phase of the tournament to be played in Malaga on the occasion of the Copa del Rey (February 13-16, 2020) . For this final appointment, Real Madrid, as the current champion, and Unicaja, as host are already classified.

The teams participating in this previous phase have been distributed in four groups of four sets that will play in regular league format one lap (3 days). The six seats in the final phase will be awarded as follows:

  • The leader of each group will be classified directly once the regular phase is over.
  • The remaining two places will be decided in the direct qualifiers that will play the second classified on Sunday, December 8: 2nd Group A against 2nd Group B and 2nd Group C against 2nd Group D).

Admission to all matches will be free.

This will be the fifth time in the history of the Endesa Mini Cup that teams will have to get their qualification for the final phase through a previous round. This format was first used in the 2015-16 season in an edition that was held in Zaragoza. The second edition of the previous phase was played between Fuenlabrada and Madrid, while L’Alqueria del Basket became the venue from the following. A venue that will continue in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons following the agreement recently reached between the ACB and the Valencia Basket Club.
