UVic-UCC and BAXI Manresa have a doctorate in sports injuries
The club and the university are committed to an Industrial Doctorate that aims to make progress in the analysis and improvement of the health of basketball players.
A Doctorate has been presented at the Nou Congost that UVic-UCC and Bàsquet Manresa will promote. This is a thesis project that will analyze through data obtained at the club factors related to the appearance of injuries in players in order to prevent them.
Bàsquet Manresa and UVic-UCC have signed a collaboration agreement that explains the will to carry out this research action. With this thesis, two important entities for the territory join forces, which join forces to be able to add value to both the training and the evolution of the club in terms of data analysis and prevention.
The presentation was attended by the Rector of UVic-UCC Josep Eladi Baños, Dr. Javier Peña, coordinator of the SPARG Research Group who will conduct the thesis together with Dr. Martí Casals, and Dr. Marc Bernadich, Director of Business of UManresa and Executive Director of Bàsquet Manresa.
The doctoral student will be the physical trainer of the first team, Adrián Rubio, who hopes that the knowledge obtained in his doctorate will benefit the club in the short and long term.
