BAXI Manresa attacks the Palau Blaugrana in a heart-stopping derby
The Bages team was able to upset Barça for the first time at home this season. Eighth victory of the season thanks to a free throw from Dani García, which sent the hundreds of fans present to a pitch where no visitor had won this season.

BAXI Manresa made it big: they were the first team to win at the Palau Blaugrana this season (82-83). After dominating for many minutes and resisting the final onslaught of the powerful Barça, a free throw scored by Dani García and subsequent errors by Laprovittola and Vesely made Bages' team add their eighth victory of the season and break a streak of thirteen consecutive victories the culés on their court.
After a few first moments with an exchange of baskets, some visitors who were very intense in defense and successful in the triple (they scored five during the first quarter) were able to nail a run of 4-16 to close the initial period with a ten-point margin ( 14-24).
In the second, good defense and a three-pointer from Sagnia put them thirteen points ahead, but then the Blaugrana scored nine points in a row and forced Pedro Martínez to stop the game. Despite the pressure from the culés, the team from Manresa did not get nervous and went into the break ahead (36-39).
In the second half the game was very level, and the Bages team knew how to respond to the attacks of an opponent who had their best men in Satoransky and Laprovittola. A three-pointer converted by Steinbergs made it 60-65 at the end of the third quarter and, therefore, everything to be decided.
In the last ten minutes the home team turned the score around and reached the final moments with minimal advantages against some people from Manresa who did not stop believing in their possibilities and that they would end up winning. A free throw scored by Dani García made it 82-83 with four seconds remaining. In the last play, Laprovittola and Vesely missed and the Bages fans present at the Palau Blaugrana exploded with joy.
On Saturday at 6:00 p.m. BAXI Manresa will play again in front of their fans, in the visit of a difficult rival, Lenovo Tenerife, at the Nou Congost.
